Google My Business is introducing videos to their photos dashboard, enabling business owners to upload videos and view those contributed by customers.
This new feature allows businesses to add videos to their own listing, potentially serving as a powerful marketing tool. The capability for customers to upload videos to a business’s listing was introduced last year.
Videos can be up to 30 seconds long and will appear in the overview section of the Google My Business Dashboard. Customer-submitted videos can be found in the ‘customer’ tab, whereas owner-uploaded videos are located in the ‘by owner’ tab.
Additionally, all videos are accessible in the ‘Videos’ tab. Note that videos may take up to 24 hours to appear in the Google My Business dashboard. If they do not show up immediately, patience is required. Once live, they will be displayed alongside local photos.
While not explicitly mentioned, it is implied that videos might take some time to be posted as they may need to be vetted before publication. To prevent inappropriate content, businesses also have the option to flag undesirable videos.
Google’s future plans include bringing native mobile support to GMB videos and introducing notifications for new customer videos.
